Bosch 8 ESP broken

The Bosch 8 ESP is the successor to the Bosch 5.7. Many car brands use this unit, such as Audi, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen. We see defects in this system especially in the Audi A6 (2004-2018), Opel Corsa D and Nissan Qashqai (2007-2013). There are a number of components that often break down in the Bosch ESP 8, such as the pressure sensor, hybrid connections in the HCU and the pump motor.

The Bosch 8 ESP can generate the following error codes:

The unit does not always have to be defective: it often turns out that there are problems with the wheel sensors, magnetic rings or the ABS plug. It is therefore wise to check these components carefully for defects before sending an ABS unit.

In the event of power and ground faults, it is important to first check the fuses of the system. At VAG, it is common for there to be a crack in the fuse. At PSA, defects in the plug of the wiring harness often occur.
